A 9-foot Vermont garland at 12 inches in diameter, pre-lit with 100 3mm concave LEDs. The smaller 3mm bulb tucks into the foliage rather than sitting proud of it, so the garland reads as lit greenery instead of greenery with lights attached.

Nine feet is the standard length because it covers a typical doorway with enough left to drape at the sides, and two lengths handle most staircases. Pre-lit garland saves the fiddly work of threading a string through foliage and, more importantly, guarantees even light distribution — the thing that is hardest to achieve by hand.
