Scale is the mistake most often made with bows. A 9-inch bow that looks generous in your hand disappears on a 48-inch wreath or a two-storey entrance. As a working rule, match the bow roughly to the diameter of the wreath it sits on, and size up rather than down for anything viewed from the street. Having the full range on hand means you are never forcing the wrong size onto a job.
